Leadership and Performance Coaching: Quite often a professional or executive has excellent skills but a major “flat spot” prevents them from achieving their potential (e.g., communications issues; delegating or managing multiple subordinates. Newly appointed leaders often want to ensure that they develop an authentic management style. Frequently, a general manager will be frustrated that a subordinate with excellent potential just doesn’t “get it” and they want help in diagnosing the problem. Robert S. Wilson — Founder & Chairman
Bob is Founder and Chairman of High Potential, Inc. He was formerly a V.P. and Engagement Partner in the Midwest Region of Interim Career Consulting. Prior to joining Interim he managed the financial services practice of Right Jannotta Bray, a major international career consulting services provider.
Bob brings more than 20 years of banking experience to HPi. Before entering the career development industry, Bob served as the managing director of Banque Indosuez, a major French merchant bank in London, where he spearheaded a major reorganization of the bank’s operations. Early in his career, he also served as an appellate counsel for the City of Cleveland and later consulted with a variety of health-care and publicly traded companies. Mr. Wilson has an undergraduate degree from Xavier University in English and Philosophy, as well as a Juris Doctor degree from Case Western Reserve University, with an emphasis in Corporate Law. Later, his MBA studies at CWRU focused on Management and Economics.
In addition, he is a member of the Union League Club of Chicago, where he is active in various civic committees. He has been a frequent speaker on career and executive development themes (ABA and Chicago Bar Association) and has been actively involved in the Case-Western Reserve University Graduate Schools Alumni Board. Finally, Bob is a visiting executive lecturer at Leeds Business School of the University of Colorado (Boulder) and the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University.
Michael P. Farrell – Managing Partner, High Potential Inc. and Board Member, OI Global Partners
For over 30 years, Mike has been helping large and small organizations solve their employee life cycle issues related to Hiring, Developing, Retaining, and Transitioning employees – in a broad range of industries, including automotive, consulting, financial services, legal services, energy, manufacturing, medical, federal government agencies, universities and non-profits.
As Managing Partner, Mike is responsible for the total client experience as well as developing strong customer relationships, aligning HPI’s services with the needs of our business partners. Mike has been fortunate to provide Human Resource and Employee Benefit Consulting services to employers such as, AMA, Accenture, Boeing,Chrysler, Deere, Dow Chemical, Jenner & Block, Kirkland & Ellis, Kraft, McDonalds, Motorola, Prudential, RR Donnelley, USG, US Dept. of Defense, US Treasury, and many more.
Prior to joining HPi, Mike was Vice President and District Manager for Drake Beam Morin, managing the customer relationships and delivery of services to organizations throughout the Midwest. Before his work at DBM, Mike spent several years in a senior management role, with total P & L responsibility, for a division of GE Capital, providing services to Fortune 500 firms. A lifelong Chicago area resident, Mike is a graduate of Loyola University of Chicago and is an active member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), the Human Resource Association of Chicago (HRMAC) and Worldwide ERC.
He is also an active Partner and Board Member of OI Global Partners. Mike and his family are also involved with the Christopher and Dana Reeve Paralysis Foundation, working to find a cure for paralysis.
Phil Staffa – V.P. Professional Services & Executive Consultant
Phil is Vice President of Professional Services and brings over 15 years of experience in the Human Resources field. Phil is a Graduate of Seton Hall University and has spent the breadth of his career with Quaker Oats/PepsiCo in a variety of roles. They included Quality Assurance, Product Development, Manufacturing, and, in particular, Human Resource Management for the Sales and International Divisions. His HR expertise includes all aspects of large-scale organization restructuring, rapid change and merger integration, coaching senior leaders, people assessment, strategic HR planning, compensation, employee training & development, and performance management. He has completed the Life Coaching program with the Coaches Training Institute. Phil volunteers with the Career Transition Center and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Chicago. He is HPi’s Lead Consultant and heads up the Talent Management and Leadership practice. He lives (and sails) in Chicago.
Stephanie Bennett – Client Services Manager
Stephanie is a Graduate Assistant currently finishing her Doctoral Studies in Educational Leadership at DePaul University in Chicago. So when she isn’t helping all of us at HPI, she is studying, pretty much all of the time! Stephanie has a BA from the University of Michigan and a MTS from Vanderbilt University. Before joining HPI, Stephanie has been Adjunct Professor at St. Xavier University and developed a Christian Education curriculum and programs for the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Nashville. In her spare time, Stephanie…studies, but also serves as an Education Consultant to the Victory Cathedral Center in Chicago. She is excited to be working with us, loves HPI’s mission, and is anxious to help out clients!
Nancy Bellis, JD – Executive Consultant & Coach
Nancy brings a unique perspective to her role as a professional coach drawing from her extensive experience as a highly effective corporate lawyer. For over 25 years, Nancy has counseled and coached senior executives, boards of directors, and lawyers on a wide array of business and legal matters. In addition to her JD, Nancy has a Master’s degree in Counseling and Organizational Psychology from Adler School of Professional Psychology. She has a J.D., from the University of Virginia, School of Law, and a B.A. from Yale University. Prior to becoming a professional coach, Nancy was Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Diamond Technology Partners, a publicly-traded management consulting firm, where she created the firm’s legal infrastructure, structured and negotiated all of its domestic and international acquisitions, and teamed on a regular basis with the firm’s HR and Finance departments to effect merger integration and change management processes. She also served in prior roles as Assistant General Counsel to Sears, Roebuck and Co., partner at Schiff Hardin LLP, and associate at Kirkland & Ellis.
Jill Fahlgren – Executive Consultant & Coach
Jill is a certified executive and career coach who specializes in career strategy and management, career transition, and leadership for professionals and executives across industries. With 20+ years of experience in coaching, consulting, and technology services, Jill delivers value through enhanced clarity, focus, and action to generate measurable results. Her personal and career experiences have provided a unique perspective on, and passion for, career and life. Jill began her corporate career as a consultant for Accenture, plc, which included international assignments in Europe and Asia. She has also worked for small and growing start-up and boutique firms specializing in consulting, technology, and software. Jill has a BA from Northwestern in Mathematical Methods in the Social Sciences and Sociology, and an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management. She earned her coaching certification from Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara.
Chick Simonds – Executive Consultant & Coach
Chick Simonds is an Executive Consultant specializing in working with sales executives. Chick began his career with Bell & Howell Company as Director of Financial Markets. After leaving Bell & Howell, Chick joined Interim Career Consulting and opened their North Shore practice, providing career transition and development services. Soon after, Chick formed his own executive recruiting firm, and has gained a national reputation as a source for high-performing sales and marketing professionals throughout the country. He earned his undergraduate degree at Northeastern University in Boston, and an M.B.A. from Babson College in Wellesley, MA. He also served as a Military Police Officer in Vietnam. Chick is a very high energy consultant and specializes in working remotely and virtually with HPi clients.
Robert G. Allen, Executive Consultant & Coach
Bob is an Executive Consultant with over twenty-five years’ experience in consulting, human resources with two major corporations and several career management consulting firms. He specializes in providing individual and group career transition services to all functions and levels of personnel. Bob’s business experience includes Director of Baxter Healthcare’s Institute for Training and Development. He previously served as a Group Human Resources Manager and Director – EEO for Container Corporation of America, as well. Bob has also served as President of the Institute for Continued Learning at Roosevelt University. His education includes a Master of Business Administration from the University of Kansas and a J.D. from the University of Texas law school at Austin. Bob is a Charter Board Member and Past President of ACPI (Association of Career Professionals International), serving on their International Board of Directors, as well. He is also the Co-Author of the book “Key Questions in Career Counseling”.
Nancy Cashen, Executive Consultant & Coach
Nancy is an accomplished Career Development Professional with both management and consulting experience in the career management field. Her diverse experience includes facilitating group career transition workshops, as well as, individual consulting and coaching in career management and job search strategies. In addition, she has managed and staffed on-site Career Transition Centers. Nancy has also facilitated newly formed work teams in several organizations providing information on team leadership, structure and problems. In addition, Nancy developed and taught communication and management classes for Waubonsee Community College. Nancy’s background includes 15 years with Allstate Insurance in a variety of positions that encompassed managerial, training and consulting responsibilities. Nancy is a graduate of Aurora University where she earned her B.A. degree in Business Administration
Robert Maher, CMF, Executive Consultant and Project Lead
Bob has been a Career Consultant and performance management trainer for 30 years. His practice has included a broad array of career management services, team building, operational planning, and corporate recruiting, as well. He has garnered a solid reputation for one-on-one coaching, effective group facilitation and consultation at all levels, especially top tiered executives. Bob believes technology to be an added resource in his career transition and recruitment services, which is highlighted by his online presence, dfwcareerpilot.com. Bob has done extensive development work with HPi/OI Partner clients on LinkedIn strategies and electronic branding. Bob earned a BS in International Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and served in the US Navy focusing on Electrical Engineering. Bob also has Post graduate studies in Organizational Behavior and Design, as well.
Howard Campbell, CMF –Executive Consultant & Coach
Howard brings more than 30 years of career transition, training and human resources experience to HPi. His expertise includes performance coaching, career transition, training facilitation, talent management, team building, and public speaking, as well as, program design & development. Howard focused his earlier career in Human Resources with management positions with Jensen Sound Labs & Phillips Medical Systems. He opened his consulting practice in 1991 and joining Right Management Consultants soon after as Vice President and later, Job Search One, in a similar capacity. For the last 10 years, Howard retuned to private consulting as Founder & Principal of Campbell Career Coaching. Howard has a degree from Northern Illinois University with an advanced degree in Industrial Relations from Loyola University – Graduate School of Business. Howard also specializes in working virtually with HPi/OI Partner clients around the country. He and his family live in Chicago.
Michael V. Mulligan, Executive Consultant & Coach
Dr. Mulligan is a highly experienced and credentialed consultant in the career management consulting industry. He founded Mulligan and Associates, Inc., a career management consulting firm in 1983. The firm has serviced hundreds of companies and helped thousands of dismissed employees in that tenure. Mike has coaches a wide range of individuals ranging from CEOs and Presidents, to Chief Level Officers, to mid-level professionals who came from different industries and positions.
Dr. Mulligan has his Ph.D. in counseling psychology from the University of Georgia and M.A. from Michigan State University in counseling, test and measurement and psychology. Prior to starting his firm, he worked as Management Development Director for Century 21 of Northern Illinois developing the management teams of 400 franchise offices and served as Regional Director of the American College Testing Program teaching high school and college professionals how to use test results, an interest inventory and personal data to help students in career planning and their personal development.
Michelle Jakubowski, Executive Consultant & Coach
Michele brings experience, enthusiasm and insight to career management coaching. Her background as an executive recruiter, clinical therapist and training specialist provide a solid foundation for career transition assignments. Michele has been a Career Management Consultant since 1991. She started her coaching career with a national outplacement company, and worked for several boutique firms before joining HPI in 2014. After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, Michele earned a M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Roosevelt University. Michele is qualified in a number of assessment tools including the MBTI, Strong Interest Inventory, Leadership Effectiveness Analysis 360, DiSC, World of Work Inventory and Career Anchors.
Chris Wagner, Senior Executive Consultant & Coach
Chris Wagner is a Consultant and Performance/Career Coach who specializes in the Financial and Professional Services Industries. His career consulting/coaching experience includes the application of the full range of assessment tools including Myers-Briggs, DISC and 360° feedback. Chris entered the Career Consulting field in 1997 following a highly successful career with The First National Bank of Chicago, including international banking experience in Europe and Latin America. Chris served as Executive Director of McDermott, Will and Emery, as well, managing the Law Firm’s 900 person support staff located throughout the U.S. and Europe. Kelly Hundt, Executive Consultant & Coach
Prior to her work as an executive coach, Kelly enjoyed a successful career in marketing. She was Chief Marketing Officer for a nationwide fitness company; senior Vice President for Leo Burnett; Vice President Marketing for Apartments.com and other senior positions in marketing. Kelly is a Chicago resident and enjoys working and living in the city. She earned a BA in Journalism/Advertising from the University of Wisconsin-Madison has led and inspired large teams, and has received numerous awards and distinctions in her field.
