We spend a lot of time thinking about our careers and our future. We ask ourselves the big questions. What do I have to do to be recognized and get ahead? What will it take to be successful?
The tennis great Billie Jean King summed it up nicely by saying “I think self-awareness is probably the most important thing towards being a champion.” We agree. To be successful, it is critically important to 1) know what you’re good at; 2) know what you need to develop; and 3) ask your employer or seek out coaching, training or mentoring. Your self-awareness will provide a road map towards achieving long-term progress and success. And, like professional athletes, you also need a good coach to help along the way.
